SUMMARY OF THE STORY NIGHTINGALE

"THE NIGHTINGALE"

There once an emperor who lived in a splendid palace. And in the beautiful garden also lived a tiny gray nightingale who used to sang sweet songs whom the little kitchen maid was the only one who can hear her. When the emperor knew about it, he wished to see it. Then one day, the nightingale sang to the emperor that touched the emperor's heart and that tears came rolling down his cheeks. One day, a parcel came for the emperor and inside was a bird made of gold and silver and covered with shining gems. When he wound up the bird it sang pretty much like that of the nightingale. Everybody were so trilled with the toy bird that they forgot about the nightingale. The nightingale had flown back into the woods. But this did not affect them because they were delighted to the toy bird not knowing that it should not be made to sing more than once a year but the emperor wounded it thirty-three times which made the toy bird broke. Apparently the emperor became ill. When suddenly the sound of the sweet music floated in through the open window. When the emperor heard the voice it made him raised his head and saw the nightingale that he had wished never to see again. The emperor ask the nightingale to never leave him again. And so the nightingale promised to sing to him every night but just let the nightingale sit on the tree. And the emperor slowly got cured.
